New State-of-the-Art Hatchery Will Increase Capacity and Improve Operational Efficiency
HOPE, Ark. – March 20, 2022– Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) is investing $70 million to construct a state-of-the-art hatchery in Hope, Arkansas. The new hatchery will replace the existing facility and triple capacity, contributing to operational efficiencies at the company’s nearby poultry processing complexes in Hope and Nashville, Arkansas. Construction on the 131,000-square-foot hatchery will take approximately two years, with completion slated for late 2024.
“We continually strive to unlock the next level of excellence in quality and service to our customers,” said Donnie King, president and CEO of Tyson Foods. “This investment is another way to demonstrate our long-term commitment to our home state of Arkansas and the Hope and Nashville communities.”
The new hatchery will employ team members from the existing facility and create new job opportunities for the residents of Hope and surrounding areas. It will also provide new contract opportunities for prospective poultry farmers. To be considered for a contract for the Hope complex, prospective farmers must have existing chicken housing or property that can be used to build housing within a radius of approximately 30 to 50 miles around the Hope hatchery. To learn more about contract farming opportunities with Tyson Foods, farmers should contact Alan Davis, live operation manager, at the Tyson Foods Hope poultry complex at jeffery.davissr@tyson.com.
